On September 28, 2022, VNET Group (VNET.US), which is a leading innovation-oriented enterprise in China's new digital infrastructure industry and the first Chinese IDC company listed on the US stock markets, officially announced that the main body of its New Media Digital Industrial Park Data Center in Gu'an County, Hebei Province was topped off successfully. After 260 days and nights of relentless efforts since groundbreaking ceremony, the VNET team and the construction team overcame various difficulties and challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, and finally completed the civil engineering construction of the No.2 Plant of the New Media Digital Industrial Park Data Center in Gu'an County.
At the topping off ceremony, the construction site was filled with gun salutes and thunderous applause. The leaders of VNET Group and China Construction First Group Corporation Limited jointly witnessed the phased achievements of the project. VNET’s Gu'an New Media Digital Industrial Park Data Center Project is located in the Daqinghe Industrial Park of Gu'an High-Tech Zone. The commencement date is December 30, 2021, and the planned completion date is December 2023. Covering an area of 72.86 cres, the project has a total construction area of 140,000 square meters and a total investment of RMB 2.6 billion.
As an important strategic deployment in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Region, VNET’s Gu'an New Media Digital Industrial Park Data Center Project will provide a total of 11,000 high-density cabinets for large Internet enterprises, cloud computing service providers, telecom operators, financial institutions and enterprises in various industries. Therefore, it will accelerate the agglomeration of high-tech industries in this region, such as AI, supercomputing platform and modern manufacturing industries, and empower the development of digital economy in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Region.
Up to now, VNET Group has more than 80,000 cabinets, and established large-scale data center industrial clusters in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Region, Yangtze River Delta Region, Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle, Inner Mongolia and other computing hubs. The successful completion of the main body of Gu'an New Media Digital Industrial Park Data Center Project is of great significance for VNET Group in building a national integrated data center layout, promoting the implementation of China's East-data-west-computing Project and accelerating the coordinated development of regional economy.
